Injuries Treated With Stem Cell Therapy

Shoulder

Stem Cell Therapy can be used as an alternative for Shoulder surgery to treat chronic and painful shoulder conditions. Shoulder surgery can often be a major procedure with many risks and complications. Even a simple shoulder surgery may leave one with scar tissue that wasn’t present prior to the surgery. Stem Cell Therapy is great for Rotator Cuff injuries as well as other shoulder conditions such as arthritis and labrum tears.

Hip

Hip Replacement Surgery has become a mainstream and common approach to correcting joint arthritis, bursitis, and muscle tears when the conservative treatments like physical therapy and medication don’t work and have failed to relieve pain as well as fix the underlying cause of the injury.

Stem Cell therapy can be used as a safe alternative for Hip Replacement Surgery. For patient that have bone on bone arthritis in the hip joint we often do a mobilization of the hip joint prior to the Stem Cell Therapy. Mobilization of the hip joint is done over 3 consecutive weeks and has been found to greatly increase the success of the Stem Cell Therapy. It involves placing a local anesthetic in the hip joint and having our highly trained physical therapist put the hip joint through range of motion exercises thereby creating a space (that previously didn’t exist) in the hip joint. The Stem Cell Therapy is than performed whereby Dr. Bieber injects the Stem Cells not only into the now opened joint but also all other areas of weakness and damage.

Knee

Knee replacement surgery is a commonly performed procedure that involves inserting an artificial joint made of metal, plastics, alloys and polymers. We unfortunately often see patients that not only have had 1 knee surgery but 2 an even 3. Stem Cell Therapy offers a safe and viable alternative to knee replacement surgery with little risk of complication or infection. General anesthesia is not needed for any of the Stem Cell procedures and so that risk is also eliminated. Pain can be improved significantly and may be permanently eliminated.

Initial improvement in the knee is seen within a few weeks and then gradually increases as the healing progresses. Again, since Stem Cells are derived from the patient’s own body, there is little risk of infection or complication. Most patients are back to their regular restful activities right after the procedure. It is often recommended that the patient wear a knee support for a week or two after the Stem Cell Treatment to ensure optimal healing.

Elbow

The elbow is a much used joint. Through over use, it is possible to develop tendonitis such as golf or tennis elbow. Stem Cell Therapy can treat chronic elbow tendonitis as well as help treat joint arthritis and partial UCL tears. UCL tears are extremely common among athletes and Stem Cell Therapy is used at the professional level to help athletes recover from this type of injury. It is recommended that the patient wear an elbow support for a week or two after the Stem Cell Treatment to ensure optimal healing.

Hand and Wrist

Pain and immobility of the hand and wrist can be treated using Stem Cell Therapy. Some medical conditions treatable by Stem Cell Therapy include joint arthritis, tendonitis, wrist sprains, partial muscle and tendon tears, and tenosynovitis. Stem Cell Therapy can alleviate chronic wrist pain that causes disability. It is often recommended that the patient wear a hand and wrist support for a week or two after the Stem Cell Treatment to ensure optimal healing.

Foot and Ankle

Foot and ankle pain can restrict one from walking, or doing one’s normal daily activities. Stem Cell Therapy quickens the recovery of both chronic foot and ankle problems and injuries. Injuries such as ankle sprains, and fractures can be treated with Stem Cell Therapy, which can also help prevent long-term effects and complications. Other medical conditions like tendonitis, arthritis, bunions, heel pain, and planter fasciitis that make it extremely painful to walk can be treated using Stem Cell Therapy. One can avoid surgery while simultaneously alleviate their painful foot condition. It is recommended that the patient wear a foot and ankle support for a week or two after the Stem Cell Treatment to ensure optimal healing.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis has always been a tricky condition. Many have had to resort to surgery or live in disabling pain. Stem Cell Therapy is tremendously beneficial for osteoarthritis, helping patients to alleviate much of their arthritic pain and regrow healthy tissue that was lost due to the arthritis. Painful symptoms caused by an arthritic joint are greatly reduced and usually eliminated with Stem Cell Therapy.
