U.S. Open 2014 and the Impossible Drama of Injury

U.S. Open 2014 and the Impossible Drama of Injury

August in New York is fantastic. Between NYC, Montauk, and all the events in between, one doesn’t have enough days to enjoy all the activities. Though one activity I never want to miss, which is the U.S. Open Tennis Grand Slam.

Taking place in Flushing, Queens, only minutes from Cross Bay PMR, I try every year to go to the open at least once. Tennis has been a life long passion for me. I played in high school and was all county, and played for my college team at Emory. I still continue to play today with my daughter Jamie.

One thing though that has stopped my tennis game for periods of time is injury, where my knee was paining me or my back. Of course, I didn’t want to go in for surgery because of the risks but it kept me from getting onto the tennis court.

As a Sports Medicine physician, I have a stake at knowing which treatments do the best to non surgically heal pain and injury. I have found that Regenerative Medicine, a new branch in medicine, offer as a great alternative to surgery. It uses the power of one’s own body to heal injury and reverse chronic pain.

Tennis players and other athletes undergo knee injuries, tennis elbow, golf elbow, shoulder injuries, torn mcl’s, acl, ucl treatments and normally have to undergo surgery. Now there is a safe and viable alternative to surgery that can help one recover from all types of injuries and arthritis non surgically.

Queen's Regenerative Medicine has a proven track record to help heal pain and get athletes back to their sport fast as well as others back to daily activity. Two types of treatments we offer at our office is Stem Cell Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP).

Stem Cell Therapy uses non-controversial adult stem cells to repair damaged tissue and PRP therapy uses the platelets in one’s blood that are used by the body to heal injuries like cuts and wounds.

If you are suffering from chronic pain, Regenerative Medicine may be able to repair these damaged areas. Call 718-835-0100 and make an appointment with me, Dr. Benjamin Bieber, for a consultation.

Let’s see if we can take away your injury from 1-2 short injections. Cross Bay PMR is located in Howard Beach, Queens. If you are located outside of New York, we can happily recommend flight and hotel accommodations for you.
